In a chance interview with reporters in Danao City, Cebu on Tuesday, Duterte said that she spoke with her lawyers in the impeachment case immediately after she arrived from The Hague in the Netherlands to meet with prospective defense lawyers of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte. "Pero nung pag-uwi ko galing The Hague ay nag-meeting kami dahil isa din yun sa mga inaasikaso ko, at sinabi nila na (When I came home from The Hague and we met because that is also one of my priorities, and my lawyers said that) they are more confident in winning the impeachment case," Duterte said. Duterte added that her vow not to campaign in the 2025 Midterm Elections was broken because of the arrest of her father, whom she said was an "extraordinary rendition," saying that the authorities forced him to fly in an airplane without any permits and was brought to foreigners. She said that her father was the one who convinced her to campaign for the so-called "Duter-10" senatorial lineup of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino.
